On September 17, young lawyers cooperating with the Institute for Citizens Rights visited the Aghdam region. The purpose of the visit was to conduct legal aid to war-affected citizens, to ensure their access to compensations allocated by the state.
During the day, residents in need were received in the organization’s Guzanli office. Citizens mainly applied regarding the social security right of a student who has lost his or her parents and is deprived of parental care, the right to housing of a person with a group first disability, an application for the targeted social aid, an application for compensation for property damage as a result of war, an application for the reassessment of disability, application for assessment of the degree of disability of a war participant. As a result, 5 persons were provided with relevant legal advice, and 3 appeals were sent to the Cabinet of Ministers, the Executive Power of Aghdam region and the Prosecutor General’s Office to compensate for the damage caused to their property as a result of the war. In order to reassess the degree of disability on one application, an electronic application was submitted on the e.sosial.az website to be considered as soon as possible.
