The member of the Legal Policy and State Building Committee of the Milli Majlis Erkin Gadirli has held a meeting at the Institute for Citizens’ Rights (the ICR) on September 3. Human rights defenders Samir Kazimli, Rasul Jafarov, lawyer Samad Rahimli, Ulkar Hamidli have participated in the meeting.
Benefisiar.org states that the main issue discussed at the meeting was the state of the Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and the legislation related to this area. Erkin Gadirli noted that he holds meetings with the NGOs in order to learn the problems the NGOs encounter and as well as the problems exist in the legislation. The chairperson of the ICR Bashir Suleymanli evaluated this initiative of Erkin Gadirli positively.
Exchange of ideas has been carried out on the activity of the NGOs and problems regarding the NGOs in the legislation at the meeting. Package of proposals regarding the NGOs has been presented to Erkin Gadirli on behalf of the ICR at the end of the meeting.
