The Institute for Citizen Rights is preparing a new draft law on political parties. It should be noted that in September, the new draft law “On Political Parties” has been submitted to the Milli Majlis. However, the author of the project is unknown.
It is reported that the project has been prepared based on the proposals received from the opposition political parties. The draft law has caused dissatisfaction in society. That is to say, the project has been prepared without meeting international standards and without considering the opinion of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. The draft contains unjustified reasons for limiting the activities of political parties and even for cancelling their registration.
